Our Community

Wednesday Night Dinners (resume in the fall)

Dinner on Wednesday nights is prepared by volunteers and served to members who are at church attending various programs such as choir rehearsal, youth group, Christian education, or just to enjoy the fellowship.

Several times during the year, vestry members and committee leaders host a dinner to welcome newcomers to the Holy Cross family. This gives the newcomers the opportunity to find out more about the programs and activities of the church and welcomes them to the parish.

“Susan Seabury Smith” Parish Library

The church library has a fine collection of books, video and audio tapes on subjects of interest to all ages.  The library is in the main office and is open during regular office hours.

Holy Cross Endowment Trust

Established in December 1999, the Trust is managed by five trustees, each appointed by the vestry to serve a five-year term. The trustees meet quarterly. Several parishioners have made commitments to include the Trust in their estate plan.

We are involved in our community through a number of outreach projects. Among them are the Holy Cross Food Pantry, United Ministries, the Angel Tree, Episcopal Relief and Development Gift of Life and Disaster Relief, Baskets of Caring during Advent, Relay for Life and a lot more. Come work with Us!

Feed My Sheep Sunday is the 1st Sunday of every month. The congregation is asked to bring in canned goods for the Holy Cross Food Pantry.

National Church Outreach ministries such as the United Thank Offering and the Presiding Bishop’s Fund are encouraged, with two annual UTO “in gatherings” regularly celebrated. The Annual Diocesan Medical Missions to Guatemala was originally a Holy Cross program and now attract people from several dioceses and other denominations.

Pastoral Care

The parish also has an active Pastoral Care Team actively working within our parish providing high quality, confidential, Christ-centered care and support to people experiencing illness, cancer, grief, divorce, job loss, loneliness, disability, relocation, and other life difficulties.
